Dry weather likely in Patna, Ranchi, Kolkata, rains to return by June 6

Bihar and Jharkhand has been witnessing on and off rains during the last 24 hours, while light to moderate rains were witnessed at few places over Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata.

Due to this weather activity, pleasant and comfortable weather is prevailing over the eastern region. In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Darjeeling recorded 24.2 mm of rainfall, while Krishnanagar 25.2 mm, Burdwan 6.9 mm and Ranchi 2.2 mm.

As of now, the states of East India are observing maximum temperatures between 35 to 40 degrees Celsius while the minimums are settling in the range of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.

According to Skymet Weather, dry weather conditions will now make a comeback over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand for the next 3 to 4 days. However, isolated rains cannot be ruled out.

After taking brief break, pre-Monsoon rains are expected to commence over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal around June 6. Odisha may also see scattered rains during the similar time.

Intensity of rains will increase over many parts of East India, with few good spells over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal around June 7 or 8. The weather will remain pleasant, with drop in temperature profile. Weathermen predict Monsoon to hit the eastern region, particularly Bihar and Jharkhand by June 12 to 14.
