Kerala has been witnessing scattered rainfall activity from the past few days. However, as anticipated by Skymet Weather, the rainfall activated has stopped across the state. Dry weather conditions prevailed across the region during the past day.

At present, north-easterly and easterly winds are blowing across the region. A low-level trough is also marked over Lakshadweep and adjoining areas. Due to the absence of any significant weather system, it is anticipated that dry weather will continue to prevail across many parts of Kerala.

However, the coastal stations of South Kerala may receive light rain and thundershowers activity in some parts. Meanwhile, mainly warm and humid weather will persist across Kerala. Few patchy clouds may also prevail over the area.

The northern parts of the state may become slightly warmer. Warm weather conditions across the northern parts of Kerala would be attributed to the comparatively warm north-easterly and easterly winds which are blowing.

The temperature levels are likely to settle in low 30s to mid-30s. During this Northeast Monsoon season, until December 15, the southern parts of Kerala have witnessed good rainfall activity. Thiruvananthapuram is rain surplus by 33 percent and Kochi by 13 percent. However, the northern parts of Kerala are rain deficient as on December 15.

Palakkad is rain deficient by 58 percent and Kozhikode by 35 percent. In fact, it is expected that mainly dry weather will prevail for at least four to five days and hence the rain deficiency over the northern parts will increase more.
