Dry weather in Delhi today; rain, hailstorm likely around Feb 25

After the passage of Western Disturbance, icy cold northwesterly winds have been blowing over Delhi and its nearby areas such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.

In fact, yesterday day temperatures dropped over Delhi-NCR by 5 to 6 and today a significant drop of about 5 was also observed in the minimums of the city.

Moderate winds in the order of 20 to 25 kmph have also cleared the pollution over the city. The pollution over most parts of the city is in moderate to satisfactory category. These moderate winds are expected to continue till tomorrow.

In the wake of these moderate winds, day temperatures may drop further. But not much change will be observed in the minimums of the city for another 24 hours. However, after that minimums will rise due to change in wind direction as another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas.

Thus, isolated light rainfall activity is expected over Delhi-NCR around February 25 and on February 26, we expect few moderate spells accompanied with hailstorm activity. Furthermore, by February 26, as the Western Disturbance will move away weather will start clearing up but few scattered rains on February 26 cannot be ruled out.
