Marathwada region in Maharashtra like the Vidarbha region experienced hailstorm and rain activity. However, comparatively, the situation was better in the former. Due to the rain and hailstorm activity, the maximums across most parts of Marathwada dropped significantly.

The day temperatures that dropped significantly over the Marathwada region were due to recent rain and hailstorm activity. Even though the maximums have registered a marginal rise, they are still below normal by 2-3 degrees. The minimums, on the other hand, remained stable and continued to settle marginally below the normal levels.

In the last 24 hours, the maximums of Nanded dropped 3 degrees below the normal levels meanwhile the daytime high of Parbhani also dropped by 2 degrees from their mean.

In the next 24 hours, the day temperatures are likely to mount slightly by 1-2 degrees however minimums may not witness many changes for the next 2 days. Thereafter, minimums would also start rising.

Days would continue to remain warm but comfortable, however, mornings and nights are expected to remain pleasant over the region.

Let us take a look at the impact of this weather on agriculture:

Due to dry and sunny weather, farmers are advised to clean the rain and hailstorm affected fields and affected standing crops. Farmers can undertake the harvest of Rabi crops. In Fruit orchard and vegetable plots, farmers are recommended to remove the hailstorm affected branches and crop parts.

There are chances of disease infestation to the injured plant parts, therefore, take preventive spray of fungicides.
