Most parts of Rajasthan have been witnessing rain and thundershower and hailstorm activities since last 10 days with short breaks in between. Scattered light to moderate rain with one or two intense spells have occurred over Gujarat.
That is the reason rain excess for Rajasthan is 301%. On the other hand, Gujarat is rain excess by 6541%. Reason for this whooping surplus for Gujarat is due to very small amount of normal rainfall that is just 0.2 mm whereas actual rainfall is 13.3 mm.
Heavy rain associated with strong winds and hailstorm has damaged standing crop over many districts of Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat. The cyclonic circulation which was persisting over the western parts of Rajasthan is becoming less marked. Weather activities will now subside significantly from both the states. Weather will become dry and temperatures will start increasing. But this relief seems to be short lived as rain activities will once again commence from March 31st.
