Many parts of Northwest India last week saw some intense rainfall activities with a few pockets even recording rainfall above hundred millimetres in just 24 hours. Due to the rains, temperatures also witnessed a drop and the weather became pleasant for most parts of north west India.
Now, the plains of North India is all set to see dry weather conditions for at least the coming week including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and parts of Rajasthan. However, The extreme southern parts of Rajasthan including Baran, Bhilwara, Pratapgarh, Banaswada may see some rainfall activity. The hills may see some isolated rain today, tomorrow and day after tomorrow due to the remnants of the weather system which caused rains.
All this is indicative of the retreat of the Monsoon, which has anyway been delayed from northern parts. Now, Monsoon is expected to withdraw wherein major chunk of North India will be covered in the next few days. With the Monsoon retreat and dry weather, temperatures may be slightly higher than the previous days but they will not reach an uncomfortable range.
