Dry weather over northern hills for next 24 hours

Hills of North India including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have witnessed rain and snow of varying intensity during the months of January and February. All thanks to the back to back Western Disturbances affecting the Western Himalayas.

But now, all the three states are gearing up to observe some sunny and pleasant weather conditions.

According to Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has moved away. The system had given good spells of rain and snow over the state and parts of Himachal Pradesh.

At present, cool and light northwesterly winds are blowing across the region. In wake of these winds, dry weather is expected, with bright sunny day. Also, the maximum temperature which has been settling on the lower end will now register an increase.

Weathermen say that this weather condition will continue over the region for at least 48 hours. Thereafter, another Western disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayan region by February 28. This system will bring another spell of rain over the northern hilly states.

As we proceed towards the month of March, the frequency of Western Disturbances is expected to reduce. In addition, if any system approaches the northern hills, it would not be very active. Hence, in the coming days, the effect of these systems will ease over Northwest India.
