Dry weather for Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune; Sangli, Satara to witness light spells

After lashing the state of Maharashtra with very good rains, the Monsoon showers have now slowed down. The rains, from last many days, were vigorous over the state, mainly over the coastal districts of the state, however, parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada were also witnessing light showers.

However, now the Monsoon rains have reduced drastically over almost the entire state. The last 24 hours too brought no changes for the state wherein barring parts of South Konkan & Goa, South Madhya Maharashtra and some parts of Vidarbha, almost the entire state is witnessing dry weather conditions.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Monday, Kolhapur witnessed 33.4 mm of rains, Wardha 14 mm, Akola 9.6 mm, Yeotmal 2.4 mm, and Sangli witnessed light spells of 0.2 mm. On the other hand, Mumbai has just received few traces of rains during the similar time frame.

As per Skymet Weather, now, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over South Madhya Maharashtra therefore, good rains are expected to occur over South Konkan & Goa and the adjoining parts of Madhya Maharashtra.

Thus, stations such as Ratnagiri, Mahabaleshwar, Sindhdurg in Konkan & Goa while Sangli, Satara, and Kolhapur in Madhya Maharashtra may receive light to moderate rains for the next 3-4 days. Moreover, isolated heavy spells cannot be ruled out as well.

On the contrary, districts of North Konkan, North Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, and Marathwada will remain dry and warm with almost clear sky is anticipated to prevail. Hence, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur Nashik will remain dry.
