MP Rains

Monsoon 2016 has been tremendously affectionate with Central India. Entire state has been the most rain-laden part across India, during this Monsoon. Incessant rains were observed over the state.

At present, the cyclonic circulation lying over Northwest Madhya Pradesh has become less marked. Moreover, the axis of the Monsoon trough has also shifted towards the northern parts of the country.

In the last 24 hours, the state has received light rain at many places. Betul received 26.4 mm of rainfall, followed by Rewa 14.4 mm, Indore 12 mm, Satna 7 mm and Ujjain 2 mm.

There is no significant weather system over the state as of now. Due to this, mainly dry weather with partly cloudy sky is expected. However, light patchy rains cannot be ruled out. Also, dry westerly winds are likely to prevail over the areas.

Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country at present to receive excess Monsoon rains so far this season, besides Rajasthan. As of September 1, West Madhya Pradesh has received 35% more rains than normal while East Madhya Pradesh witnessed 30% more rains. Skymet Weather predicts decrease in the rainfall activity in the next 24 hours. Isolated light rains are predicted over the state.
