After remaining arid for almost a month, the last 24 hours proved to be a boon for Madhya Maharashtra with scattered light to moderate rains making an appearance. Prior to this, on March 17 also, the region saw some light spells.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday,Kolhapurrecorded 13 mm of rains, whileSolapurwitnessed very light showers of 0.1 mm. Pune to saw some traces.
Reason for these light rains as per Skymet Weather can be associated with a trough that was running from Comorin area to South Madhya Maharashtra.

However, as of now, the afore-mentioned trough has shifted southwards and at present is running from Comorin area to Interior Karnataka. In the wake of this, the weather is expected to become dry now.

Talking about the temperature profile, not much changes in the maximum temperatures are anticipated. The mercury levels that are currently settling near the 35-degree mark would continue to prevail. Meanwhile, the night temperatures may rise marginally due to the prevalence of southeasterly warm and humid winds.

Due to the persistent cloudy weather during the last couple of days, the fruit crop like grapes, pomegranate, mango and vegetable crops may get affected by diseases. Flower and fruit drop may also occur.
Farmers are suggested to take appropriate measure to control disease and inflorescence drop. Due to dry weather in the coming days, farmers are advised to resume harvesting of Rabi crops, vegetable as well as fruit crops.
