Bengaluru is witnessing dry weather from the last 48 hours. Though December began on a rainy note for the capital of Karnataka when some rains showed upon the city. However, on November 30 and December 1, both the city and the airport observatory recorded light to moderate showers. All thanks to the Cyclone Ockhi.
At present, the cyclone lies over East Central Arabian Sea, still in the very severe category and is moving in a north-northeasterly direction towards Gujarat and North of Maharashtra. This weather system is likely to weaken gradually and will cross South Gujarat and adjoining North Maharashtra as a deep depression.

As the weather system has moved away from South India, the rains disappeared from the state of Karnataka including over the city of Bengaluru. Though despite the absence of rains, the weather across Bengaluru remained pleasant with the maximums settling in upper 20’s. However, now once again, Bengaluru is expected to witness some light rain or drizzle.
As per Skymet Weather, the medium and high clouds are prevailing over the region. Moreover, humid winds from the southeast Bay of Bengal and the southwest Arabian Sea are expected to increase moisture over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru thus resulting in light rains over the IT Hub of the country.

However, these rains are expected in the next 24-48 hours though these will not be very intense and is expected to show up only at a few locations. Which means the rainfall activity will not cover a larger area and will be mainly patchy in nature.
Though comfortable and cloudy weather will continue for another 2-3 days over Bengaluru. Furthermore, as Cyclone Ockhi has already moved towards North Arabian Sea and the upcoming weather system which lies as a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea will travel in a northwest direction towards Andhra Pradesh, therefore, Bengaluru and other regions of South Interior Karnataka will not get much impact.
