The Joyous City of West Bengal, Kolkata has been recording moderate to heavy rainy spells since past couple of days. However, tables have turned and the rainfall activity has reduced significantly over the city in the last 24 hours.

The reason for good spells of rains over the area was the existence of deep depression that was persisting over Gangetic West Bengal. With the weakening of weather system into a low-pressure area, rains have taken a back seat over Kolkata and nearby areas. This system is presently seen over Jharkhand.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, isolated light rain is likely to continue over the Joyous City for another 24 hours. Thereafter, the city will witness dry and warm day conditions with bright sunshine and clear sky.

Maximum temperatures are expected to settle around 32-33 degrees, whereas minimums will range near 25-26 degrees, resulting in comfortable morning and nights. However, with the prevalence of humidity in the medium range, the residents will have to bear with minor discomfort.

The four-month-long, Southwest Monsoon has ended on a good note for the state of West Bengal as well as Kolkata. In fact, the post Monsoon period also turned out to be a satisfied one as the city did not witness complete dry weather and widespread rains continued.
