Santa Cruz received 7 mm of rain during the last 24 hours until 8:30 am this morning. After a few heavy spells now rains have decreased over Mumbai and suburbs. During the last 24 hours, the weather was almost dry over the city except light rains at a few places.
Now, we expect these dry weather conditions with chances of light rains to continue at many places. Scattered light rains with moderate spells at one or two places are expected to continue today. There may be a marginal increase in rain activities tomorrow, but these rains will not hamper the Ganpati festival. Moreover, due to a marginal increase in rain activities weather will become pleasant. Sky will remain cloudy throughout. A relief will set in giving a much-needed break from sultry weather over the city.
Thereafter rains may once again increase from September 13 onward. Moderate spells are likely in many parts of the city and suburbs on September 13, 14 and 15. Intense spells cannot be ruled out between September 13 and 15. As the rains will not be very heavy thus it will not lead to much waterlogging or traffic disruption in the city, which is typical of Monsoon season.
