Temperatures in Central India are on rise since last few days. Many parts of Gujarat, as well as parts of South Rajasthan, have recorded 40 degrees or above maximum. In fact, maximum of Rajasthan was in a lower 30 last week. All the weather systems which were responsible for rain over Rajasthan Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have disappointed. There may be scattered light rain over Southern parts of Maharashtra and isolated pockets of South Chhattisgarh during next two days. Thereafter weather of these States will also go dry.
Dry and hot Northwesterly winds from Central parts of Pakistan and Baluchistan will blow across Central parts of the country leading to an increase in temperatures. Places like Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur and Bundi in Rajasthan and Surendranagar in Gujarat have already touched 40 degrees. In the next 2 to 3 days maximum of Churu, Bikaner, Shri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and many districts of Gujarat will cross 40 degrees. But we do not expect heat waves over these States for at least next 4 to 5 days.
