Dry and hot weather conditions are prevailing over most parts of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad since the last 24 to 36 hours. Surface winds blowing over the region are also moderate in nature.
In the wake of dry weather conditions, significant rise in day temperatures was witnessed during the last 24 hours over Delhi and NCR. Yesterday, Delhi’s Palam Observatory recorded its maximum temperature at 39˚C, followed by Safdarjung 37.5˚C, Gurugram 37.5˚C and Faridabad 37.3˚C.
At present, a feeble Western Disturbance is moving across the higher latitudes of Jammu and Kashmir region. Thus, no affect will be felt over the National Capital Region.
But as dry and warm northwesterly winds will be affecting over Delhi and NCR, temperatures will increase continuously during the next three to four days. Moreover, in the absence of any significant weather system, the speed of moderate surface winds will also become light.
Due to such weather conditions, pollution levels of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad will deteriorate further and AQI may come under poor category during the coming days.
Thus, we can say that dry and hot weather conditions are expected to prevail over the National Capital Region in the coming days as no relief is in sight. Moreover, after 48 hours, due to clear sky and continuous increase in temperatures, heat wave like condition may develop in isolated pockets of Delhi and NCR.
