For the past many days, the weather remained dry and cold over the national capital. Moreover, fog intensity also continued to range between shallow to moderate. Dense to very dense fog continued to abate the region. The sky also became clear as the day progressed.
As far as temperatures are concerned, on January 14, the maximum temperature recorded in Palam observatory was 23.7°C, while minimum settled at 6.9°C. Safdarjung observatory, on the other hand, recorded a maximum of 23.3°C and minimum of 5.7°C.

Presently, a feeble Western Disturbance is moving across North Jammu and Kashmir as an upper air system. This weather system has been providing as well as accumulating moisture incursion over Delhi and its adjoining regions.

Besides this, cold northwesterly winds are most likely to strengthen and prevail with moderate speed during the next 24 hours.
In view of clear sky and dry weather, maximum temperatures will remain ranging around 24°C and night temperatures will continue to settle between 6-7°C. So, keeping in view the today’s temperature profile, the mercury is expected to increase marginally during the next 48 hours.
Hence, morning would remain cold with moderate fog in pockets. Day would be pollution free, with bright sunshine in the wake of moderate northwesterly winds.
