In the last 24 hours light isolated rain has been observed in East Madhya Pradesh and the weather condition in the region is still cloudy. While West Madhya Pradesh is in the grip of dense fog.
The day conditions are however cool and pleasant in the entire state but the night temperature has dropped in West and East Madhya Pradesh
These weather conditions are due to an upper air trough extending from North Uttar Pradesh upto North Maharashtra across Central Madhya Pradesh. Since this system is moving northeastward the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh will continue to observe light rain and thundershower along with cloudy conditions for the next 24 hours. Dense fog during the early morning hours tomorrow cannot be ruled out.
Umaria, Sidhi, Jabalpur, Devas, Satna and Reva are some of the places in East Madhya Pradesh that can observe rain in the next 24 hours. These rains are going to prove beneficial for the Rabi crops like gram, peas and mustard.
On the other hand, cold northerly winds will be affecting the northern and western parts of Madhya Pradesh due to the above system. Hence the weather in the region will be dry in the region but foggy conditions will still prevail.
By the evening of January 19, the weather in the state will become dry. A fresh spell of weather is again expected to affect the region from January 21.
