Since the past one week, different parts of Rajasthan have been observing various shades of weather. South and southwest districts including Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer are hot and dry whereas northern parts of the state have been getting patchy rainfall.
Dry weather conditions have been persisting in the southern parts of the state due to the after effects of deep depression. This very system has affected Gujarat and South Rajasthan, however other than this no weather system has developed over that area.
Jaipur and the nearby areas have been getting continuous rainfall since the last 4 to 5 days due to the oscillation of the Monsoon trough and the effect of Western Disturbance. Normally the effects of a Western Disturbance are felt up to North and Central Rajasthan only.
No weather system will be affecting the southern parts of Rajasthan. However, isolated rain and thunderstorm activities with light rain will continue over North Rajasthan. From July 6 to July 9, good rainfall is expected over North and West Rajasthan due to a combined effect of two weather systems i.e. a fresh Western Disturbance and a low pressure area which is developing over the Bay of Bengal and is moving towards the west.
