Previously, the axis of Monsoon trough was running through central parts of the country and easterly winds were blowing over Delhi, due to which isolated rain activities were witnessed over the region.
Now the Monsoon trough has shifted over Northwest India and is currently running through Northwest Rajasthan, South Haryana and East Madhya Pradesh.

Thus, as per Skymet Weather, scattered rains will continue over Delhi and NCR for the next 24 to 48 hours, however these showers will be highly localized and of short duration. Moreover, these showers will occur during late afternoon and evening hours.
After 48 hours, the Monsoon trough will again shift towards the south and as a result, moderate easterly winds will again start blowing over the area. Consequently, humidity levels will increase, leading to discomfort and distress. We can say that there will not be significant relief from ongoing sultry weather as these showers will not be widespread.
