Mumbai Rains have made an appearance over the city loud and clear. The last two days have seen some good rains visiting Mumbai throughout the day.

These Pre-Monsoon showers have brought in that much needed relief from the city. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, Santa Cruz recorded 15 mm of rains wherein Colaba saw 19 mm of rainfall.

These showers were attributed to the presence of Cyclone Vayu which is presently moving north northwestwards and will not head to the Saurashtra coast but just skirt through it.

The Cyclone is moving away and weakening however, moisture is available in abundance resulting in rains over the Mumbai region once again. Sky conditions will remain cloudy over Mumbai with the possibility of some lightning and thunderstorm as well.

Therefore, Mumbai rains are expecting to continue for at least two to three days. Moreover, the city is expected to see rainfall activity slightly intensified tomorrow. Thus, rains of varied intensity will be seen in Mumbai as well its suburbs of Thane, Vashi, Panvel etc.

These Pre Monsoon showers over the city of Mumbai will pave way for Monsoon arrival over Mumbai. Therefore, with a couple of more days of rain in Mumbai, Monsoon 2019 will arrive over Mumbai during the weekend.
