The depression over eastern parts of the country has finally weakened into a well-marked low pressure area and is now seen over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining Madhya Pradesh region.

According to Skymet Weather, the system would continue to move in west-northwest direction and move over central Madhya Pradesh in the next 12 hours.

With system vacating eastern parts, rains would now reduce significantly over Odisha and Chhattisgarh and the focus would be now over Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, peripheral of the system would concentrate over North Uttar Pradesh and northern parts of Maharashtra.

The system is likely to travel up to West Madhya Pradesh by Saturday and weaken simultaneously.

As per weathermen, next 48 hours would remain conducive for moderate to heavy rains and thundershowers with few more heavy spells over Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan.

Now, we are reaching at the end of the first week of September, which also coincides with the time of commencement of withdrawal of Monsoon. Thus, whatever weather systems form during this time, do not tend to travel till Rajasthan and remained confined to West Madhya Pradesh. Similar situation is prevailing at the present.

So, the system would now weaken over West Madhya Pradesh and shift north over North Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh and break up over the region. This would then pull the Monsoon trough along the foothills of Monsoon trough. Besides this, remnants of the system along with the trough would then give rains over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Northeast India.

Not only this, the path of these systems during this time of the year demarcates the withdrawal of Monsoon. The area that it would leave would be treated as the place from where Monsoon has withdrawn itself.
