The depression which was over southwest Bay of Bengal has a weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over interior parts of Sri Lanka. It is moving over Comorin area and adjoining parts of Sri Lanka coast. Gradually it will move in West Northwest direction towards southeast Arabian Sea.
Last 24 hours moderate showers occurred over many parts of Tamil Nadu and light to moderate rain over Rayalaseema south coast of Andhra Pradesh and southern part of Kerala. Light to moderate rain with one or two intense spells may continue over Southern districts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu during next 24 hours and will decrease thereafter. Light rain is possible over north Kerala election and parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh.
This may be the last weather system developing over Bay of Bengal and moving towards Tamil Nadu in the month of December. Chances of cyclogenesis or development of any significant weather system during month of January are very less. Therefore, weather is going to become almost dry over entire south Peninsula after 3 to 4 days.
