Depression to bring moderate to heavy Monsoon rains in Madhya Pradesh

Cyclone Daye has revived Monsoon 2018 almost over the entire country. Under the influence of this system, eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh have recorded light to moderate rainfall activity during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, rest all other parts remained almost dry.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Malanjkhand recorded 15 mm of rain, followed by Sidhi 13 mm, Mandla 2 mm and trace of rain over few more districts such as Umaria.

Although the tropical storm has now weakened and is seen as a Deep-depression over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. The system is moving at a fast pace and simultaneously losing its strength. According to weathermen, it will move in westerly direction towards Madhya Pradesh by Friday night as a depression.

The depression will gradually weaken into a low-pressure area by Saturday. With this, heavy rains would now focus over Madhya Pradesh. During the next 24 hours, it will give moderate to heavy rains over southern and southwestern districts of Madhya Pradesh.

By September 22, we expect rains to start reducing over the eastern parts of MP. By September 23, rain over western districts will also start decreasing but scattered rains will continue over west and southern parts.

Weather conditions will become dry over Madhya Pradesh only after September 26. Though rains will remain light and patchy but moderate to heavy rains will take a backseat from September 28 onwards.

Dry westerly and northwesterly winds will commence over the state by September 26-27 and sky will become absolutely clear leading to increase in day temperatures. Mornings and nights will also become comfortable.
