According to Skymet Weather, there is no substantial weather system in and around Maharashtra at the moment that can boost the intensity of rainfall over the state. However, the depression formed over North Bay of Bengal is likely to travel in west-northwest direction.

Hereby, we can anticipate moderate to heavy showers over Vidarbha region during the next 24 to 48 hours. Localities like Nagpur, Gondia, Wardha and Chandrapur may witness Monsoon showers.

At the same time frame, almost dry weather would prevail over the remaining divisions of Maharashtra. Nevertheless, there are prospects of light showers in Konkan & Goa along with Mumbai for the subsequent 2 to 3 days.

Weathermen predict that the intensity of rainfall would curtail over Vidarbha after the duration of 48 hours.

As on September 5, the state of Maharashtra is in the normal range for Monsoon season to the tune of 1%. Whilst division-wise, Konkan & Goa is rain surplus by 6% rains, followed by Madhya Maharashtra at 4%. Marathwada and Vidarbha too received normal rains but with minor deficiency of 8% and 4%, respectively.
