After intensifying into a well-marked low-pressure area, the weather system over Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring areas is all set to intensify into a depression.
According to Skymet Weather, cloud configuration and wind flow are indicating that the system is likely to gain strength and turn into a depression during the next 12 hours.
As per the weathermen, the intensification of this system is in contrast to the normal course of transformation of any weather system. Usually, weather systems get marked while they are over the sea and weaken once they move inland.
However, this system strengthened into a low-pressure area after moving inland. In meteorological terms, it can be called in-situ formation of depression over the land which is normally seen during the Monsoon. It is also seen that such systems mostly affect the areas falling in the southwest direction of its center.
Thus, with the system moving west-northwestwards over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh, rains are likely to intensify over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
As it is a slow moving system, all these areas will be under the influence of the system for the next three days, predicts Skymet Weather.
During the next 24 hours, we could see a decrease in clouding over the northwestern plains of Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab that may lead to increase in temperatures on Wednesday over these areas.
