Dense Fog Observed in Delhi, 126 Trains Delayed

Just a day before Christmas, Delhiites unlike yesterday did not wake up to a clear morning. With a visibility of just 50 metres, Delhi observed very dense fog this morning. While a few areas in Delhi including Dwarka, Lakshmi Nagar and Vikas Puri observed dense to very dense fog. Areas like Vasant Kunj, Model Town, Noida and Noida Expressway observed shallow fog.

Lucknow with a visibility of a mere 50 metres observed very dense fog. Dense fog was also observed in Gaya early morning. Agra in west Uttar Pradesh reported very dense fog with visibility of about 100 meters. Meanwhile, people of Ranchi with a very high visibility of 1500 metres, welcomed the day with sunshine.

Due to very dense fog in the national capital, flight and rail traffic has been widely affected. The departure of six flights was delayed from the Palam airport due to poor visibility, while the arrival of one flight was delayed. Two flights were also cancelled.

Rail traffic also had to face major delays due to dense fog. Nearly 126 trains have been delayed from Delhi due to dense fog. Some of the major trains that have been running really late are Sridham Superfast Express which is running 8:25 hrs late, New Delhi Dibrugarh Rajdhani 5:08 hrs, New Delhi - Puri Neelanchal Express 13:15 hrs, AP Express (New Delhi - Hyderabad) 18:25 hrs, Awadh Assam Express 4:21 hrs and Purvanchal Sampark Kranti (New Delhi - Guwahati) 22:24 hrs

Hopefully, people of Delhi will wake up to a clear Christmas morning tomorrow.
