At present, most parts of East Uttar Pradesh as well as North Bihar have been engulfed by dense to very dense fog. In fact, it is safe to say that winter chill has shrouded the regions quite firmly.
Due to the prevalence of fog even throughout the day, cold day conditions have maintained its grip over many parts of both the mentioned states. With the constant appearance of fog, day-to-day life and commutations have been sternly affected.

In fact, with the harsh cold weather conditions, scores of deaths have also been reported in the states of Uttar Pradesh as well as Bihar.
Places such as Gorakhpur, Araria, Kushinagar, Chapra, Muzaffarpur, Raxaul, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Madhubani and Champaran have been reeling under these weather conditions. Herein, maximum temperatures are settling between 13-15 degrees Celsius, while minimums are ranging in single digits that too below six degree mark.
As per weathermen, very dense fog will continue over the northeastern districts of Uttar Pradesh and North Bihar for the next two to three days. These conditions will persist under the influence of cold air mass and associated upper air trough in the lower levels.
During the afternoon hours, the weather situation will improve as the visibility would be better. This could be in consequence to the prevalence of strong winds over the region. The sun would show up, thus maximum temperatures will increase marginally. On the other hand, minimums would fall during the early morning hours.
