Dense fog in Delhi, North India once again

Dense fog engulfed Delhi, North India once again today. Runway visibility at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi dropped to zero leading to cancellation of 7 flights while delaying about 50 others till noon. Rail traffic has also been hit hard with many trains running late on the northern route, causing great inconvenience to passengers. According to our forecast, winds will remain sluggish in the national capital for another two days, keeping conditions alive for the formation of dense to very dense fog.

Other than Delhi, dense fog has also enveloped northern states like Punjab, Haryana, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Amritsar in Punjab is among the worst affected with visibility dropping to zero. Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Patna are some other cities in the region where visibility has dropped to a large extent due to dense fog.
