Dense fog in Delhi, North India continues to affect normal life

Dense fog in Delhi, North India for the fourth consecutive day continues to impact normal life in the region. Visibility in several areas here has dropped to below 50 meters making life tough for early morning commuters. The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi has been covered in thick cloud of fog leading to 9 flights being cancelled and over 15 delayed till 7.30 am. Rail traffic has also taken a blow, especially the trains running on the northern route. Some important trains that have been reported to be delayed on this route are Magadh Express, Sapt Kranti Express, Jammu Tavi Express, Vikramshila Express and Northeast Express.

The fog condition is likely to prevail in the city till 10 am today after which it is expected to get a little lighter. Chances of the sun showing up in the sky are very minimal.

Other than Delhi, places like Amritsar, Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi and Patna have also been covered in thick cloud of fog.  Amritsar has been the worst affected with visibility dropping to zero.
