On Sunday morning, very dense fog engulfed isolated places of East Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, while Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura saw dense foggy mornings during the same period.
Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh too observed fog of moderate intensity.

The lowest visibility was recorded at Haflong, Gorakhpur and Purnia wherein it dropped to less than 50 meters. The same way, Chandigarh and Imphal also saw visibility less than 200 meters each.
Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, North Lakhimpur, Guwahati, Palam (Delhi) and Patna saw lowest visibility at less than 500 meters.
As of now, dry and cold air mass has gripped the east and northeast regions of the country, leading to favorable conditions for the formation of fog such as low temperatures, high humidity and light winds.
In view of this, moderate to dense fog will be seen at many places over east and northeast regions of the country, while shallow to moderate foggy mornings are likely to continue over the northwestern plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh, Indo Gangetic plains of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and isolated places over Odisha.
Skymet Weather expects similar weather conditions to persist during late night and early morning hours over the Northwest India, Indo Gangetic plains and Northeast India for the next two to three days.
