Dense to very dense fog continued to engulf most parts of Delhi-NCR for the second consecutive day on Thursday. Palam Observatory reported very dense fog, dropping visibility to zero. As a result, several flights have been re-scheduled or delayed.

As per reports, operations at the Delhi Airport has been shut down as the visibility remains on the lower side.

Places such as Dhaula Kuan, Greater Kailash, Akshardham, AIIMS, South Extension, R K Puram, Rajouri Garden, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Indirapuram also witnessed low visibility. We can expect fog to clear up by 11 am with the sunshine making its way.

According to Skymet Weather, present weather conditions are favourable for the formation of the fog over the national capital. Levels of moisture have increased manifolds as humid winds have been reaching up to northern plains from the Cyclone Nada in Bay of Bengal.

Moreover, minimum temperatures have been settling on the lower side and wind speed is also very light.

Weathermen predict similar weather conditions to prevail for another 24 hours, wherein Delhi-NCR will continue to be under the grip of moderate to dense fog.

As a result, we can expect slight drop in the maximum temperatures over the city, while minimums will increase. The thick layer of the fog will not let the day temperatures rise as they would have if the sky was clear.
