It seems like very dense fog has become a regular feature in many parts of Uttar Pradesh. So much so that many cities have been witnessing visibility below the 50 metre-mark for quite some time now. On Christmas morning several parts of Uttar Pradesh witnessed very dense fog once again.
Amritsar continues its steep drop visibility with very dense fog. Conditions were really bad today morning as the visibility had dropped to a mere 300m. While Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh witnessed very dense fog; weather conditions were bad and the visibility here was dropped to nil.
The saga of dense fog continued over the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The visibility here was once again witnessed at 100m. Other areas of Uttar Pradesh also observed similar weather conditions.
A cyclonic circulation is seen over Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan and thanks to this system only moderate to shallow fog is witnessed over the region. Winds are strong over northwestern plains which has decreased the intensity of fog only isolated areas over the region will witness very dense fog.
In the eastern parts of the country especially over Bihar, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh winds have become stagnate allowing dense to very dense layer of fog persist.
As far as East and Northeast India are concerned, Imphal in Manipur recorded very dense fog with the visibility being recorded at 50 metres.
Due to these conditions, at least 59 trains are running late across the country. Fog will persist during the next 24 hours as well.
