Delhi gets to taste the winter as minimums remain in single digit for more than 10 days in November.
Minimum temperatures set a record in Delhi during November as they remain confined to single digit for more than 12 days, out of which seven consecutive days witnessed single digit minimums.
Delhi recorded the minimum temperature of 8°C on 25th November which was the third lowest in last ten years. Delhi recorded the lowest minimum of 7.3°C in 2006, followed by 7.9°C in 2009.
The minimum temperature in Delhi settled at 9.1°C on November 27, 9°C on 26th, 8°C on 25th, 8.5°C on 24th, 8.8°C on 23rd of the month, 8.8°C on 22nd, 9.8°C on 21st, 8.5°C on 19th, 8.6°C on 18th, 9.1°C on 17th, 9.4°C on 16th, 10.6°C on 15th, and 9°C on 14th November.
Such a drop in minimum temperature is not usual for November since Delhi starts to witness single digit minimums only in second week of November. This drop can be attributed to persistent cold dry air and absence of a significant western disturbance.
The monthly average minimum for November is 13°C, while this November the monthly average was 11.7°C.
The highest minimum till date in November has been 17.2°C observed on 9th November. The highest maximum was also recorded on the same day which was 32.1°C.
The lowest maximum of 26°C was observed on 25th November which was also the day that observed the lowest minimum.
As per the latest forecast by Skymet, the weather in Delhi is going to remain the same for a couple of days more. In absence of any rain, maximum temperatures are not expected to come down soon.
