Delhi's minimum temperature plays See-Saw, weather remains erratic

The romantic month of February started off with significant variations in temperature for the National Capital city Delhi. While the maximum temperature remained unaffected, the minimum temperatures saw a drop of 4-5 degree Celsius in Delhi.

The reason for such irregularity is the On and Off of Western Disturbance. The usual flow of northern winds turned cold and dry after brushing the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

The end of January, Delhi witnessed the minimum temperature reach 13-14 degree Celsius due to ongoing Western Disturbances. After that, snowfall occurred over  Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh . Cold winds from North dropped the minimums around 9 degree Celsius.

For the next 24 hours, the temperatures are likely to remain around 8-9 degree Celsius in Delhi-NCR. However, the temperatures will rise around February 10th and 11th. It is estimated that by the night of February 9, another fresh Western Disturbance will influence the weather over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. This will again result in fall of temperature around February 13th and 14th for Delhi and adjacent areas.
