Delhi is undoubtedly one of the most polluted cities in the world. With air pollution touching emergency levels in Delhi and NCR, some residents including the real estates have been thinking about shifting base. For search in greener second homes, people are choosing spacious areas with access to public transport and greener spaces.
The pollution level in Delhi and NCR is increasing and at present, some places in Delhi and NCR are in a severe category while some in the very poor category. The dangerous pollutants like PM 2.5 have resulted in various diseases such as brain and heart attacks, lung-related and cardiovascular diseases. The increase in the toxic air around Delhi and NCR is causing problems as Delhiites are breathing 25 times more toxic air.
The national capital's residents are risking long-term health effects too. This is evident from the undeterred demand for housing in the Delhi-NCR area. Now, the real estates' experts say that people will not be moving out from their primary homes but will surely look for a second home in a less polluted area with access to public transport and greener space. Nowadays, it is soon turning out to be in demand and it is expected that the prices will not fall because of increases outward migration.
As Delhi is considered one of the most polluted city so according to UNICEF, the children born at this time are highly affected as they continue to have small lungs, lack immunity and breathe twice as fast as adults breathe. According to another report, women in their 70s and 80s experienced a greater decline in memory who were exposed to higher levels of air pollution.
As discussed above, the increase in the toxic air around Delhi and NCR is causing problems which are mostly affecting the skin, causing allergies, leading to rashes and premature ageing and even the doctors observed Delhiites have jumped 30% in skin related problems which had forced many to seek medical treatments.
Thus, Delhiites are still not giving up on it as they are still hoping for the air to gets clear soon.
