By the end of February, the soaring temperatures in Delhi made the weather uneasy and warm. In fact, the maximum temperature even crossed 32°C on one occasion. But since the start of March, the temperatures are hovering close to normal. And in the last 3-4 days, thanks to intermittent rainfall over Delhi and NCR, the weather has again cooled.

In the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on March 10, Delhi has recorded good but sporadic rainfall.

Green Park, Saket, Mehrauli, R K Puram, Janak Puri, and Faridabad also recorded moderate to heavy rains with thundering activity.

Few areas of Delhi also recorded few spell of hailstorm as well.

Due to this widespread rainy spell over Delhi and NCR, the temperatures of many areas of the city has seen drop in both minimum and maximum by 3°C to 5°C. Today the temperature is expected to be around 24°C.

This rainfall prevailed due to three major weather systems affecting the region. The Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. An induced cyclonic circulation is over Haryana and Punjab and a trough from this system up to West Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi is expected to witness very less rainfall today and the spread is likely to be in NCR especially over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. This rainfall over the National Capital means that Delhi will be celebrating Holi in cool weather. Post tomorrow, there is a gradual rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures expected up to March 16.
