Delhi recorded the lowest minimum temperature of this season clicking 10.8°C and beating the previous daily record. While 01st November was the coldest on that date in the last more than 10 years, 02 November also repeat track to be the chilliest day at the start of the month. Last 3 years itself, the minimum temperature on 02nd November was 19.4°, 16° and 18.8°C in 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively. The month of November has an average minimum temperature of 16°C to start and about 10°C to finish with good chances to score single digit on many occasions. But to measure temperatures normally seen toward fag end of the month at the start itself is dictating likely harshness of winters this year.

Prior to this, the lowest minimum temperature of October for the last couple of decade was recorded as 12.5°C on 29th October. The month of October 2020 also recorded the lowest average minimum temperature of 17.2°C against the normal of 19.1°C. It does not look like relenting anytime soon and may lower the margins further. The days are likely to become windy from 5th November onward and the chill factor is going to sharpen with a nip in the misty morning. November happens to be the least rainiest month of all and the second half is more susceptible as compared to the former one.

The first half of November normally records minimum temperature hovering around 15°C with cosy conditions. A swing from this is on the cards this season. Mostly sunny days and clear nights will find conducive conditions to support and enhance bite in the air during late night and early morning. Expect Diwali with pinching cold and fingers cross for single-digit minimum temperature.
