Delhi rains had given the residents of the national capital some happiness during the first two to three days of September. Thereafter, light showers were also seen during a couple of more days. However, these rains soon did take a backseat and the national capital has remained dry since then.
So much so that the residents of Delhi and the NCR region have not been able to see any good rainfall activity. To be specific, both the main observatories of Delhi including Palam and Safdarjung have not recorded any rainfall activity for about ten days now.

The reason for no show of rains can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system persisting in proximity of Delhi and the NCR region. Also, at present, dry west northwesterly winds are blowing over the region causing warm and dry weather conditions.

So much so that the maximum temperature in Delhi and the NCR region has been settling in the warm range. While the maximum temperature is settling above the 35-degree mark, the minimums are slightly better at around 25 degrees.
Thus, due to no significant weather system over the region, these temperatures are expected to increase even further which is why warm and dry weather conditions will continue to persist over Delhi and the NCR region during the next 48 hours.
However, the good news is that Delhiites may witness some rainfall activity between September 21 and 25, which is expected to result in some relief from the ongoing warm weather conditions. These rains are expected to be light to moderate in intensity.
