Delhi weather to remain pleasant; pollution levels to rise on account of Diwali

In the wake of Western Disturbance which caused widespread snowfall in the hills, the cold northerly winds have been dropping the night temperature over capital region Delhi-NCR. In last 24 hours, pollution enveloped the city very tightly and this too contributed in temperature drop.

As per Skymet Weather, yesterday the day temperature dropped almost 4 degrees-Celsius and this morning the minimums took a slight drop as well. Maximums and minimums are playing little hide and seek on account of winds and pollution.

Today, it seems that pollution level is very shallow and day temperatures would see a marginal rise. On account of north-westerlies, winds and pollution are on a compensatory note.

By this we mean that when the pollution levels are high, the temperatures won't rise. And, when the layer of pollution gets shallow, then the temperatures tends to rise. Also, sunshine becomes mild when the pollution level goes up.

This might continue for coming 3 days as well. Whereas, the minimums would see a marginal rise with temperature around 15 degree-Celsius.

Otherwise, there will be fair amount of breeze, no formation of clouds is seen, generally pleasant weather conditions would prevail both during day and night. This would continue for last coming 4-5 days.

On account of festival Diwali, pollution level might go up. It is expected that for coming 3 days, the pollution level would squeeze into poor category. The pollution level which dropped marginally would again see a rise.Furthermore, next improvement in pollution level would be seen around November 10 on account of northwesterly winds sweeping across the plains including Delhi-NCR. The passage of Western Disturbance system largely affecting the hills would pick up the wind speed thus affecting the plains of the country.
