Delhi weather to become hot again

Delhi experienced violent dust storm and thundershower activity on May 13, claiming three lives. There was much anticipation of its recurrence on May 14. However, it failed to occur. The reason for the non-occurrence was the lower temperature level across the city.

As per Skymet Weather, to trigger the formation of thunderclouds also known as cumulonimbus clouds, high humidity in combination with elevated temperature is required in the pre-Monsoon season. Higher the temperatures, higher will be the vertical extent of the thundercloud.

As on May 14, the temperature in Delhi did not reach the 40°C mark. Thus, in spite of high humidity, dust storm and thunderstorm activity failed to make an appearance.

As per weathermen, today, conditions may occur for a mild dust storm or thunderstorm activity over Delhi and adjoining regions as the temperatures are increasing with the day. However, if the temperatures do not rise beyond 40 degrees, chances of any activity are quite bleak.

In the wake of the dry and hot northwesterly winds, the temperatures will rise from tomorrow turning the weather hot and uneasy. In fact, the temperatures in Delhi would settle in mid 40s.
