Winters in Delhi seems to be in their concluding phase as the dry and warm weather continues to clutch the city tightly. The month of February happens to be the rainiest winter month for Delhi, with the average monthly rainfall of 22.1 mm. However, the city failed to witness any spell of rain so far this month.
The average monthly maximum of the city stands at 23.9°C and Delhi have been following its history with constantly recording the maximums above the normal range for the past 3-4 days.

It is due to the absence of rains and continuous dry weather that both day and night temperatures have been scaling up and are expected to climb further as the month progresses.

In the last 24 hours also, Delhi’s Safdarjung Observatory recorded 26.4°C as its maximum which is two degrees above the normal levels. Palam Observatory also witnessed the daytime high about three degrees above the normal at 27.1°C. However, the minimums are settling close to the normal range.
As of now, both day and night temperatures of Delhi are expected to keep rising gradually. Moreover, a Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayas by tomorrow. Due to its effect, Delhi and NCR may experience light thundershower activity along with partly cloudy sky around the night of February 21.
Isolated pockets of the city may even receive a few drops of rain. However, the possibility of the occurrence of rain is quite bleak. Thereafter, the weather would clear up.
Henceforth, around February 23, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over the northern parts of Rajasthan and adjoining area in view of a Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayan region.
Under the effect of the induced system, rain and thundershowers are expected at some parts of Delhi and NCR around February 24 and 25. Due to these rains, the day temperatures are expected a drop by 2-4 degrees and by February 25, the minimums may also drop marginally leading to comfortable weather conditions. Thereafter, by February 26, the weather is anticipated to clear up.
