Delhi to witness rain this Wednesday

Delhi rain

Delhi NCR has been reeling under extreme heat conditions since past many days. So much so, that the maximum temperatures crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark at many places of the region. With each passing day, the day maximums have been observed to increase, with no relief in sight.

These weather conditions can be attributed to hot and dry northwesterly from Pakistan reaching the region from Pakistan via Rajasthan. In fact, both these areas are already witnessing hot weather conditions.

However, as per Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas. This system is expected to give rain and thundershowers over Delhi NCR on Wednesday.

These approaching showers are expected to bring down the maximum temperatures gradually. From Tuesday, thundery development is likely across the capital that will be followed with rain and dust storms on Wednesday.

During this period, day temperatures are anticipated to register a drop by 2 to 3 degrees and will hover in the range of 38-39°C.

The maximum temperature on April 1 was recorded at 39.4°C, six degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was around 23.2°C, five degrees above normal.

The highest maximum temperature recorded in March was 38.6°C on March 31, with the mean maximum temperature of the month recorded at 30.9°C.
