Delhi witnessed few good spells of Monsoon showers two-three days back. Since then mostly dry and very warm weather conditions are prevailing in Delhi and NCR region. These dry weather conditions are prevailing due to the absence of any significant weather system in the surrounding of the capital region as the axis of Monsoon Trough is at a significant distance from the South of Delhi and the weak Western Disturbance is moving across the eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, no significant weather conditions are expected over Delhi and NCR during the next two to three days.
Yesterday, both Palam and Safdarjung Observatory recorded day temperatures at 36.4 degrees.
However, due to local weather conditions, isolated places may receive very light rains or thundery activities. Otherwise very warm with humid weather conditions will be witnessed.
It is foreseen that the day temperature is likely to remain between 36°C-38°C and night temperature will be between 27°C-29°C.
As the axis of Monsoon Trough will shift northwards, the next spell of rain and thundershowers is expected around July 24.
Weather alert for Delhi and NCR
A short spell of light rain with gusty winds will affect isolated places of Delhi and NCR mainly the North, and Central parts during the next 1-2 hours.
