After witnessing some pleasant weather over the weekend, Delhiites will now have to gear up for hot and sultry weather in coming days. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the system over Haryana and adjoining West Uttar Pradesh that had given rain over northern plains has now moved away.
In absence of any weather system, sunny weather will make a comeback over Delhi-NCR with rising temperatures including both maximums and minimums. Moreover, recent weather activity has left lot of moisture in the air and that will lead to increase in humidity levels.
As per the latest forecast by Skymet, humidity levels will continue to increase now onwards as we inch closer towards the onset of the Monsoon. And so does the discomfort of the people.
However, we can expect relief from scorching heat around June 20 when another weather system in tune with Western Disturbance over the hills will affect North India. Both systems coupled together will give scattered rain along with dust storm and thunderstorm activities over the plains including Delhi-NCR.
Ever since the beginning of the June, Delhi has been witnessing seesaw pattern of weather. The month started with pleasant weather on account of dust storms and thundershowers.
Maximum temperatures, which have been settling in the range of low 40s to mid 40s during last week of May, dropped by at least six to eight degrees in first week of June.
Post this, day temperatures had again witnessed a rise but cyclonic circulation over Haryana pulled the day as well as night temperatures well below the normal.
