In the wake of dry weather conditions, maximum temperatures over the National Capital Region are expected to reach around 38˚C soon. In fact, today and tomorrow we can expect a sudden spike in the day temperatures over Delhi and NCR.
The month of April normally brings in heat and begins with maximum temperatures around 35˚C. But further, as the months comes to end temperatures also reach up to 39˚C.
Now since the last two to three days, temperatures in Delhi and its adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad are increasing continuously. Yesterday, Delhi’s Safdarjung Observatory recorded its day temperature at 36.8˚C.
Today also, Delhi-NCR will observe dry weather accompanied with high maximum temperature which may even be 4˚C above normal. We can also say that Delhi is all set to witness heatwave like conditions on April 4 and 5.
By the evening of April 5, dust storm and thunderstorm activities will commence in parts of Delhi and NCR. These weather activities will occur in association with a Western Disturbance moving across the Western Himalayas and its induced cyclonic circulation over parts of Rajasthan.
The National Capital Region will experience these weather activities for the next 2 days. During this time, temperatures may stop rising for a while and drop marginally by 1˚C to 2˚C.
However, from April 6, since dust storm and thunderstorm activities will be in patches and for short duration only, temperatures over Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad will start rising once again leading to very warm weather conditions.
