After a rainy episode last week, Delhi is now gearing up for some summer heat. Yesterday, Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi recorded the maximum temperature at 37.2 °C.

In the absence of any weather system and the blowing of hot and dry northwesterly winds from Rajasthan, the coming days are going to be hot for Delhi.

Although a Western Disturbance is approaching the hills, but the system will not be strong enough to bring in or influence any weather in the Plains.

An incremental rise in temperatures is expected to take place starting today onward in the city. Forecasters at Skymet expect today’s temperatures to reach the mark of 38 °C, while tomorrow it touch 39-degree mark. Day after tomorrow that is on Wednesday the maximum temperatures will be recorded at 40 degrees. After this the temperatures are only going to rise further even crossing the 40-degree mark.

No rains are in bags for Delhi, for at least next one week. Although, the temperatures in the line of 37 and 38 degree Celsius are a normal sight at this time of the year, however, the week ahead seems promising above normal temperatures. Days will be windy and a ‘loo’ like condition cannot be ruled out.
