The capital city of India, Delhi was experiencing heatwave conditions till June 6. Thereafter Pre-Monsoon activities took over. Thus, thundershowers and light rainfall activities decreased the temperature significantly by 6-8°C. These rainy spells made an appearance over Delhi and NCR after a long wait.
The weather has once again become dry which has to lead to the increase in temperature levels.
As per Skymet, dry weather conditions are likely to prevail till the weekend and the scorching heat will once again hike the temperatures up to 42°C. Dry weather in Delhi will likely make the Delhiites crave for those showers once again.

A trough is persisting south of Delhi, therefore on and off dust storm activities cannot be ruled out during the coming week.
Next episode of thunderstorm is likely to hit Delhi around June 17-18. During that time many parts of Northwest India will once again start receiving pre-Monsoon activities in the form of dust storm and thunderstorm.
Temperatures will reduce by June 18 but humidity levels will increase, as by that time Monsoon would have reached eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Until then, Delhiites will continue to witness hot and dry weather.

Normal date of onset of Monsoon in Delhi is June 28 and there are almost chances of it being on time and not get delayed.
