Delhi to see pleasant days, winter chill to remain far away

January 30, 2018 12:47 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Delhi weather had become very chilly and foggy during the last few days. In fact, residents had been witnessing very cold mornings with dense fog making an appearance. However, tides have once again taken a turn and weather conditions have witnessed a change.

During the last 24 hours, both day and night temperatures have increased over Delhi. Also, due to the strengthening of winds, the intensity of fog has decreased significantly.

Currently, a Western Disturbance is affecting Western Himalayas. This system is responsible for this rise in temperatures over Delhi and NCR.

Also, now, the winds are not blowing from the snow-clad mountains of Western Himalayas. In fact, the northerly winds have changed direction and are blowing from the west from Central Pakistan region, where the temperatures are already settling on the higher side.

Thus, we expect day and night temperatures to further increase. The winter chill which was being experienced by Delhiites will also be absent for at least next three to four days.

Day temperatures are expected to reach in mid-20s as the intensity of fog will reduce significantly and the sun will remain up for a longer duration.

However, we expect temperatures to once again drop after the passage of Western Disturbance, which is around February 4.

Until then, cool and comfortable nights along with warm and sunny days are expected to persist. Pollution levels are also likely to decrease due to the strengthening of winds.
