Delhi rains have been on the back seat for quite some time with only patchy rains here in there. On the other hand, parts of NCR have been seeing some short duration intense rainfall activities. As we move towards the withdrawal of monsoon phase, where rains become more patchy and inconsistent in nature, which has been the case.

At the moment Monsoon trough is running south of its normal position as systems on either side have dragged the Monsoon trough down. Earlier, it remained north for a week or so. Combination of feeble Western Disturbances moving across the Western Himalayas as a trough and teh southward position of trough will keep the possibility of patchy rains over national capital and NCR region.

These activities may be seen for the next few days, probably on a daily basis but they may not be very intense. As these rains will be patchy in nature, the temperature will continue to remain above normal. Rains will increase when the system moves inland and shifts the Monsoon trough closer to Delhi, which is likely around September 14.
