April 20, 2016 5:36 PM | Skymet Weather Team

A fresh Western Disturbance, presently lying over North Pakistan, is approaching North India. It will start affecting weather of the hills of North India from April 22. Fairly widespread moderate to light rain likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Uttarakhand will receive light rains only.

We can also see an induced cyclonic circulation. Both these weather systems will enter the Indian region by tomorrow.

The foothills of Punjab and Haryana will also be affected by the above-mentioned weather systems. Places to be affected by rain and thundershowers will include Jalandhar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Saharanpur, Dehradun and Ambala. People in North Rajasthan will witness dust storm activities. To the dismay of people here, Delhi and NCR will not receive any rainfall activity.

Day temperatures have been rising in North India. This spell of rain will lead to drop in temperatures not only in the hills and foothills but also over the plains of North India. We can expect marginal change in temperatures over entire North India on April 22 and 23.

Remnants of the previous Western Disturbance brought widespread but light rain over Jammu and Kashmir during last 24 hours. Bhaderwah received good rains and recorded 20 mm. Rest of the places like Banihal, Batote, Srinagar and Kokernag received less than 10 mm of rainfall.
